WELCOME!
Thank you for taking the time to drop by and peruse our small site. There’s not a lot here, but we like to think there’s a lot of value in these few pages.
ChemoBrain Productions is a product from “retired” photographer charles i. letbetter. The name comes from the neurological impact of being in the midst of chemotherapy treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Brain fog, an inability to focus, confusion, short-term memory loss, and other symptoms have been among the most frustrating side effects, leaving charles unable to do much work for more than a few minutes at a time. Even when he does feel like sitting at the desk, he’s often found struggling to focus enough to actually accomplish anything.
The one thing he can do, in short segments, is creating new books and images from his extensive library of photographs. The books are short so that he doesn’t stress over creating a large amount of content at one time. He works slowly, and some days he’s still not able to get out of bed much at all. Using third-party providers such as Blurb for publishing and Cafe Press for merchandise, the process is simplified enough that he can create meager products without over-extending himself.
This is not a not-for-profit organization. Purchases are not tax deductible. Proceeds from any purchases go directly to meet the ongoing financial needs of charles and his family while he’s unable to work. We don’t know how long this may last. Some people report lingering effects, especially exhaustion and an inability to focus, long after treatment has ended. Since charles has had a more severe reaction to treatment than we were expecting, we’re trying to be prepared for carrying him through the long haul.
THANK YOU for taking the time to visit and look around. We greatly appreciate your support!
